George Jones' House

One last Christmas light picture, maybe. This is the gates to George Jones' house. His huge yard is decorated with lights and displays.

Lighted Trees

These trees are at Opryland Hotel and it takes a crew of four guys about five months to light the property.

We froze Charlie Brown

This is a fun event for the kids. This walk through ice display is at Opryland. This year's theme is Charlie Brown. There are lots of scene depicting a Charlie Brown Christmas. It is freezing, but the kids especially love the slides that are there every year. The annual nativity scene is huge and beautiful.

Opryland Hotel

The Opryland Hotel in Nashville is all decked out for the Christmas holidays. It is a grand hotel and convention center that attracts alot of tourists and locals especially during the holidays.

We want snow

On Christmas Day yesterday it actually snowed for a few minutes and only tiny flakes flying around. It was the closest thing to a white Christmas that we've had. We want more snow.

BJ's House - Sunnyside

This house is decorated every year for a son who died several years ago. It is up Hillsboro Road at the end of Sunnyside subdivision. The neighbors have joined in with lighted displays and the decorations stretch several houses down the road.

Merry Christmas Adam

It's Christmas Adam - the day before Christmas Eve. This house is just off Henpeck Lane on Green Valley Blvd. He has all the Christmas character wood cut outs and tons of lighted displays.

Love the lights on this house. It looks like a real gingerbread house.

People's Church

People's Church is a large contemporary church on Hwy 96. Their mission statement is to transform ordinary people to passionate followers of Christ.

Blast from the past

Found these toys at Target the other day. Fisher Price is bringing back some classic toys. Their slogan is "classics from yesterday - for kids of today!" When I saw these I was swept back to my childhood playing with my brother.

Rushing the Holiday

It's 10 days until Christmas and the Valentine's Day decorations are already out. And the Christmas decorations are on sale. Talking about rushing the holiday!

Favorite Ornament

This has got to be my favorite Christmas ornament. It is a crocheted wishbone made by one of my family members a long time ago. Not only is it very creative to use a wishbone, but who has the time? Notice the little upside down hat in the middle.

Lipton Lights

Okay, this is a terrible picture, but the lights are amazing. The lights at this house are synchronized to four songs and advertisements. The house is off Liberty Pike at Mack Hatcher. Check out the video at liptonlights.com This is the second year they have put on this show with over 80,000 lights and 1.5 miles of electrical cords.

Friday Night Out - Pie in the Sky

Pie in the Sky is a pizza restaurant that started in Franklin in 2001. What's cute about this picture is that I heard children say a REAL astronaut was coming down the street.

Dogs on Parade

There is always lots of dogs downtown. So, naturally, there would be some in the parade. Love the shoes on the one walking in the parade.

Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins and her crew of chimney sweeps was at the parade. This float was for a chimney cleaning service. I thought this was a great idea.

Polite Request

Saturday was the Franklin Christmas Parade and the biggest draw for the kids is the candy that is thrown from the floats. I love this little girls winter outfit. And she was being so polite in her way of asking for candy.

This bench sits in someone's yard. Decorative and functional? Maybe not too comfortable.

Friday Night Out - Chick Fil-A

My favorite fast food restaurant is Chick Fil-A. The chicken sandwiches are so good. The chicken nuggets are awesome. Have you ever seen their fantastic ad campaigns? The cows that say eat mor chikn. Chick Fil-A started in Atlanta and is closed on Sundays.

It's Cold

I kept wondering this weekend when it was going to get really cold as I was putting up the short sleeves shirts that my boys were still wearing. Well, I woke up Monday morning to our first hard freeze and now its been cold all week. Be careful what you wish for (or bring up, in my case).
