Fireworks
My camera came out of hiding and was immediately grabbed by my 11 year old. He took a picture of every firework we saw on the fourth. Don't think I have ever seen fireworks look like this. He had a great time and got some cool shots. Does he have a future in photography - we may never know.

Goofballs
Parents love a place for their kids to run around and act like goofballs. This looks like the perfect place to entertain the kids this summer. Being inside is a big plus.

Shrimp Dinner
We had a great shrimp dinner on the balcony. Boiled peel and eat shrimp, french bread, and a salad. Something about the salt air makes you hungry and food taste better.

Searching
Everyday workers have been searching for oil on the beach in Orange Beach, Alabama. So far, no oil has been found here, but it is coming closer everyday. It has hit Alabama but not where we are staying.

Busy Times
I must apologize for not being a good daily photo blogger this year. We have been super busy packing and moving and building a house. I ride around town and find interesting photo opportunities and just pass them by. Hopefully, I will become more dedicated in the next few weeks.

Too Late
This store is gone by now. They had the most unusual decor I have ever seen. I'm sure that there were houses that could integrate the unique items, but obviously not enough. It's too bad that a different type of place can't make it.

Friday Night Out - Chey's
Chey's is a chain restaurant from Texas. Their unique decor makes it a fun place to eat out. The trunk of this car is usually open offering salsa and tortilla chips.

Rip Out and Start Over
Many of the homes flooded have lost everything. Most people didn't have much time to collect their belongings as the water rose quickly. FEMA is in the area to help the homeowers as most don't have flood insurance. The damage is projected to cost over $70 million dollars in the Franklin area.

100 year flood
Franklin and the Nashville area experienced the 100 year flood the weekend of May 1st. Over 13 inches of rain fell in two days flooding over 1,100 homes. The water rose 4 -5 feet in some areas. The photo shows the brown flood line in the lawn of one of the houses that was flooded.

Snowbird
Snowbird from TV Channel 4 came to our school the other day. He was really funny and the kids loved it. He is the mascot who tells us when there is no school because of snow.

red trees
Loving the red blooming trees. These are one of the first colors of spring and very refreshing after a long colorless winter.

Hot Air Balloon
It's spring time, so that means that the hot air balloons will be out again. This seems to be a popular hobby around here. Don't know if I want to go up in one or not. The tiny basket high up in the air really scares me.

White Neighborhood
Sullivan Farms is known as the white neighborhood. When the neighborhood was developed a Bradford Pear was planted at each house and along the main drag. These trees turn white in the spring.

Spring Hurry Up
This is the view out my den window in the spring with the tree in full bloom. I am SO ready for warm weather. I just need to start hibernating or move to the Caribbean.
