Carnton Plantation
The Carnton Plantation is a historic home in Franklin. It was used during the Civil War as a hospital. The largest field hospital in the area. The Battle of Franklin was fought on November 30, 1864 and only lasted about five hours. Over 9,000 soldiers were wounded or killed during the battle. A cemetery for those who died during the battle is on the property. Please go to http://www.carnton.org/ for more information.

What a gorgeous photo of a magnificent home. Such a sad history though.
