September's Theme Day is big. This picture is from Lead, South Dakota. It is the open cut for the Homestake Mine that was closed in 2002. The mine goes down 8,000 feet or about 2 miles into the earth. There are currently no blogs on CDPB from South Dakota, so I am taking advantage of using my photos from my trip there. It is beautiful country, so much to see.

Nice Theme Day post! My sister used to live in North Dakota and I always enjoyed visiting her.
