Natchez Trace

This is the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge in Franklin. The Parkway runs from Natchez Mississippi to Nashville. It was used as a trail in the 1800s by people who came down the Mississippi River and returned north using the trail. It is a peaceful, scenic drive and since it is maintained by the National Park Service the speed limit is 50 mph.

  1. That might be a great trail to follow in the summer to see some wildlife. Would you recommend it for that?

  2. Yes, the drive is nice during the day until sunset which is when the deer come out to feed. At night it is really dark. You will also see wild turkey. It is a slow drive with not many pit stops - gas, food - you can get off for those. There is rest areas. There is a website for the Trace at www.nps.gov It is a great way to get south if you have the time.
    Thanks for the comment.
