White Neighborhood

Sullivan Farms is known as the white neighborhood. When the neighborhood was developed a Bradford Pear was planted at each house and along the main drag. These trees turn white in the spring.

Front Porch

I like the colors of this house, very unique. And the simple decoration, a single pumpkin.

Riverview

Riverview on Franklin Road just outside downtown was built in 1902. It reminds me of the home of Scarlet O'Hara from Gone with the Wind.

Campbell Westbrook House

This house on Main Street was built in the 1880s. It was lived in by a couple of families until the late 60's. It was then purchased by Eloise O'More who started the O'More College of Design in the house. It is now owned by another family.

This is part of the gated entrance to Wyatt Hall which is a historic house in Franklin. I don't know much about the house but it has a beautiful setting.

Stone Path

Stone path leading out to a garden. Love the sun shining through the fence casting shadows on the ground. This was at one of the houses on the tour I did back in the spring. This house had beautiful grounds around the house.

Hydrangas at the entrance

I pass by these flowers everyday, but they may be leaving soon, since the house is for sale. This arrangement and its twin sits atop a column of rocks at the entrance to a house on Lewisburg Pike. Gates, entrances, and adornments of various decorative taste are seen quite alot here.

Cozy House

This is one of my many favorite houses in Franklin. It may not be noticeable to some people because it is a different style than usually found in the historic district. I love it because it looks very homey and cozy. The family has been renovating recently and the exterior is much brighter.

Green Neighborhood

Creekstone, located off Royal Oaks, is the first "green" neighborhood in Franklin. Their website says that all homes being built are Energy Star Qualified and meet the Department of Energy's Building Challenge.

Reynolds House

Yet another home on the historic tour. This property has been in the same family since 1890. It was recently renovated including raising the foundation to build a basement. The original house and house seen here have been damaged by fires several times so the family installed a sprinkler system. The family added other ecofriendly innovations but kept the original architecture intact.

Brownstones

This is the courtyard entrance to the Brownstones in downtown Franklin. Two of these homes were on the historic tour. They are newly built but fit in nicely with the architecture of the downtown area. Each home has four floors and many outside patios.
